Max rated HP is max rated HP and that is all there is to it. Exceeding it is potentially dangerous and will nullify your insurance.
If you are looking for a justification to do it then I don't think you will find it here.

Tony, If I came on a little strong with my response I apologise. There have been many, many threads here that ask the same or similar question about overpowering their boat. When they get the response that it is not a good idea and they should not do it they don't like what they hear and try to argue that it is O.K. to do.
This is clearly not the case with you. Glad you are enjoying the site and learning what you need to.
