On my 35 Johnson, it does not shift back from forward into neutral, but it shifts fine from reverse to neutral.
Seems the shift rod in the lower unit feels good, no binding and the rod is screwed in tight. If separated from the upper shift rod, that feels fine when you move the shift lever back and forward into forward.
It will shift from forward to neutral only if I push in on the shift lever when rotating back to neutral then it has enough rod to push the lower shift rod into neutral.
Is there an adjustment in the exhaust housing that I can add an 1/8 '" or so more of rod? How can I adjust the lever so it will push the rod down more?
Thanks for all replies!
