35 mercury no spark?

hello,<br />first i must say this looks like a very good place for information.<br />i am having a problem with spark.<br />my boat has been in storage for 2 years,i got it out and the carb was dirty,i cleaned it up <br />replaced the float as it was bad.<br />the motor ran fine for about 5 minutes then died.<br />i have checked for spark and no spark at all.<br />it's a 35 hp mercury serial #0b112190 <br />i am shure this question has been asked a 100 times but i have been through all the threads<br />and came up empty!!<br />i'm trying to avoid taking it to the shop,as i'm on a budget.....so what i'm getting at is <br />any help would be great<br />thank you <br />j.w

Welcome to iboats.<br />Remove the black wire with the yellow stripe, tape it off, and try it. This elliminates the kill circuit. If still no spark, check the CD pack.

well fella's,<br />i tried the black wire w/yellow stripe...still no spark?<br />i called the dealer about a switchbox he's wantin 169.95 for it..<br />any suggestions?<br />thanks again<br />j.w
