I was reading other posts and someone mentioned that they had water coming out of the exhaust ports in the leg. The person who responded said that was normal but you should always have a pee stream coming from the starboard side of the motor on the bottom rear. When I looked in there i see a tube leading to nipple that goes to the outside of the lower cover. When I run the motor on the muffs, or on the lake for that matter, there isnt any water coming out of that nipple. I do have water that comes out of the exhaust ports that does increase when the rpm's are increased. Is there something wrong here? If I should have the pee stream, does it sound like my water pump is working and it might be a clogged line since I get water out of the exhaust? Thanks for looking1

You didn't say the year of your motor (it may not have a tell tale at all). In any case, the tell tale function is way overrated in importance. Putting you fingers on the cylinders will tell whether or not your overheating if you don't have a temperature indicator on the panel. And if you really care, a water pressure gauge is even better, since it will give advance warning of wear way before a pump failure.

Yes that model has tell tale, but you know that, you can see the fitting in the lower cover and the connection to the engine!

Your tell tale is probably just blocked. clean out the outlet nipple with a piece of wire, the hose and if necessary the elbow on the engine. Take care that's plastic AFAIK so easily broken.

Check that the engine is not overheating. You should be able to keep a finger on the cylinder head for 2 or 3 seconds and a splash of water should not sizzle
