35hp johnson...good deal?

Just saw in the local paper a 35 johnson with a tiller and jet lower unit. guy wants 500 for it, runs and looks good. I will be going over there later with a compression tester but pulling the rope it felt like it had good even compression. not sure on the year, but its got the boxy looking cowling and the exhaust port above water like my 56 johnson 30. good deal or pass?

got to it too late. Listed for only a couple hours and someone already picked it up. thanks for the reply anyway though
