35hp lower unit swap

I have a 1982 E35ELCND Evinrude. What years of lower unit complete gearcase will bolt up to my motor? I know a guy who has a newer lower unit for a 35 but I don't know if they would bolt up. I don't want to buy if it don't fit. Any help would be nice. Thanks in advance.

get the part number from the lower unit you have now, and check the part number of the unit you wish to buy if the part numbers match it will work
