i i have a 14 aluminum boat i have a 9.9 gas on it and looking for a trolling motor to use on lake where gas is not permitted. A friend of mine has a minn kota 36lbs with maximizer for sail will that be enough.
I've got a 50lb on my 18" bass boat and it is adequate. Sometimes I wish I had a little more thrust, but it has never failed to get the job done. The 36lb should get the job done on a 14' boat.
I have a 36 lb. on my 13' Jon Boat and it does the job. Every now and then if there is a lot of wind I wished it was a little stronger but over the years I really have no complaints.
