Fuel Tank supplys a 1996 150hp Johnson, Removed the tank to clean it. Threaded aluminum hose barbs exist on top of the tank for fuel effluent and vent. When reinstalling them, is there a special pipe compound to seal the threads used for petroleum products, or is regular marine sealant/pipe compound OK?

Mich,

There is a special teflon tape used for gasoline applications. The ones I have seen have been yellow colored to identify them. They cost more than regular Teflon tape...around $4 a roll. This is what my application called for.

Just my $0.02 worth,
Joe
