Well plans were to put a 383 in my 87 lib. with alpha one, got a little scared with the hp rating of the alpha one. Looked at going to a bravo 3 but the setup was a little rich for my blood so i was going to scrap the whole idea and put a new carb and vortec heads on my current 350. With some dumb luck i found a bravo 3 2.0 with props, and inner and outer transom mounts for a grand. Friend of mine is an electrician for a local fair ground, over the winter during a large wet heavy snow storm, a barn that stored boats and rv`s collapsed. While working last week seen a guy taking parts of a boat with a bravo 3, the front 3 feet of the bow was crushed from the carrier beam of the building. He already took the motor out for his brother in-laws boat, said i can have the bravo 3 outdrive, inner and outter transom mount. Only problem is he dose not have the raw water pump or bracket, and anything else that was attached to the motor. What else would i need to complete my build?

Ayuh,... Sounds like a Deal, Jump on it...

You'll need Bravo plumbing,+ wiring...

I'm going to guess you will also need a new thermostat housing to fit a bravo style engine so that it will not over heat at idle, Right Bondo?;):)

You might want to try to get the original engine serial number if it's not to late, You may need that to help look up cross over parts, But if not, it's not the end of the world, It could just make this a little easier is all.

You might want to get the trim pump assembly if you can, Just in case.;)

What was the engine the guy took out? Year?

The bravo outdrives use a different thermostat housing then the alpha outdrive on the same motor?
Is it plumbed different?

Seems like alot of little odds and ends but i have the outdrive, innner, outer transom, trim rams with anodes and trim pump all for $1000.00 how can you go wrong. my motor will be dropped off to my machine shop hopefully by the end of this week and he said about a 1.5 to 2 week complete turn around.
