Hi iboaters,

My Uncle has a Sears Gamefisher mod. #298.586193 (I don't know what year that makes it). I think it's a Tanaka motor but not sure. I need to know the fuel oil ratio and whether I should be using 2 stroke outboard or aircooled chainsaw oil. Any help always appreciated. Thanks

It is a Tanaka and I can't help with the year. I have never seen a Tanaka. Can't help with the ratio either. But I can help with the type of oil. If the cylinder has fins, it's air cooled. That would need chainsaw oil. No fins, outboard oil.

I'm not sure of the year either except that it's early 90's, but it is air-cooled and the fuel:eek:il mix is 50:1. Tanaka lawn equiptment dealers may be able to help with parts. The Gamefisher is just like the Tanaka TOB-300, and there are some helpful resources on Tanka's website including owner's manuals and parts manuals:
http://www.tanaka-usa.com/
Sears may still carry some parts too.
http://www3.sears.com/
Hope this helps!
