3Hp is it dead

Hi All,I have a old 3Hp jw17 4712 I have had in the garage for a long while and I've been looking for a mechanical project to tinker will plus it's as old as me 1961 vintage I think so I thought why not, so I grabbed the little fellow and find that is has snapped the exhast housing I was wondering if it could welded or not a good idea.

Not a good idea. It will be nearly impossible to get it aligned and will snap drive shafts or wear out the splines. Not only that, the aluminum will be soaked with oil and carbon particles.

Once you get that motor running good, I would try to figure out why the house is settling and then re-point the bricks!
