I wanted to share this with all of you. The other night I was installing a transom mount transducer on my 3 day old Tahoe Q5i Ski and Fish. All of a sudden the tube exploded in my hands and got all over the back of the transom and immeadiately started to cure. Unfortunately it was late and I had no experience with this product so I went to bed, got up and went to work all day the next morning. Knowing now that the product was going to be rather tough to get off I seeked up throughout the internet and this forum on how to scrap, and remove the 3m 4200 product without scratching up the hull. Well the product that seemed to really work is called "Motsenbockers Lift Off" and can be purchased at Home Depot in their paint section. What you have to do is use a razor blade to get the 3m 4200 sealant rather thin and then glob on the Motsenbockers Lift Off. Since it was verticle I just kept moving the stuff around to keep it on the sealant for about a minute and a half. After that you will notice it comes of with extreme ease with a fingernail. Then I washed the area with a dawn and "warm" water clean soft rag. After that I took a 50/50 mix of distilled white vinegar and distilled water in a spray bottle to finish cleaning the area. It was like I never put the stuff on in the first place. This was really cool to see, and knowing that so many people have had trouble getting this product off I just had to share.
Happy boating.
