I have used marine tex putty to seal a few holes from transducers and the such. I have applied glivit to the rivets and seams on by 87 basstracker.
My question is that on the transom, there are a few scres instead of rivets..I was thinking about running them out and putting a little dab of 3m5200 on them for the extra protection.
Any thoughts
Thanks

I just did the same thing with the fasteners on my new transom.

Re: 3m 5200 on screws?

yes....by all means.

the correct method for any screw that goes into wood....is actually to over drill the holes....fill with epoxy....then pre drill....and install screw.

the fast way is to drill the holes....fill the hole with 5200. then put 5200 on the threads....then re insert the screw.

the way to rot a piece of wood.....is to do nothing at all.

should I be worried because it is permanet? Can you get it off/out if you ever need too.
