How did the coils look? If there was cracking, like in the attachments below, then you will need new ones. A bad condensor will also kill the spark on one or both cylinders too.

Hmmmm well something somewhere isn't making a contact. You can also check the boot connections and make sure they're clean. Sometimes these loose connectivity. Did you swap condensors to see if you get spark back in the other cylinder? If this doesn't change anything, then you might have a bad connection at the spark plug lead, where it goes into the coil. Sometimes if people change coils, they don't change the leads and if they use the old ones, they don't trim off the end to create a new connection.

Hi this is a picture attached of the coils & our parts. I checked ohms on the leads and both .6 on the multimeter.

It looks good but something obviously has gone wrong. There's not much in there to go wrong so you'll have to pull it apart and check it all out again. You know it's not the magnet as you used to get one spark, so something else is wrong. And $150 for a folding 3 here is great. I've never seen em less than $400 or so locally...

Check the wiring that goes to the coils too, and make sure the flywheel hasn't worn through any of them. The little black ground wire and the green one that goes to the points can sometimes get in harm's way of the flywheel. Also, make sure your points are completely clean.

Great little motor and easy to work on. Good for trolling/fishing. Here's mine which I just finished refurbing.

Very nice oldie there lindy46. Mine aren't near as nice as that, but I have a '57 JW and a '65 Yachtwin.

Yeah, they're great old motors. Now that I got the folder all painted, I'm hesitant to use it this summer. But then again, that's what its for - to use, not just to sit there. And I love the comments I get from other boaters when they see these old motors restored and running like they did 40+ years ago!

Yea, I have my HD-20 almost ready for paint. Right now, I'm looking for an upper gearcase seal for it, so I can get the lower unit all back together. That one, should run nicely, since the crank, pistons, rings and rods are all brand spankin' new. :D

I may just strip the paint off of the two little 3's I have up there and repaint them. They both run great, so I won't need to tear them down.
