4.3 Base motor

Called a shop on Ebay about their listing on new 4.3's.....$1695 for basic longblock or $1995 with intake, water pump, balancer, etc.....anyone ever purchased one of these? Comes with a year warranty.....one thing that concerns me is I don't think they are current model year engines......if stored properly would that hurt anything? here's the link.....

Nope,...... That's a Non-Issue..........

It looks like a Fair price on a brand new crate motor to Me...........

Thanks Bondo.....one option I have is to buy just the basic longblock and get an Edelbrock intake....

I currently have a 2bl Rochester.....do you think it's worth it to upgrade to a 4bl? I am also not sure how good my current carb is so I'm leaning that way.....

Owner said he'd include a new flywheel also....I have an '88 OMC Cobra....other than the fuel pump, do you see any other issues going with Vortec? I have a 1 piece main, 14' flywheel like the Vortec....

That's what I replaced my engine with 4 years ago. I didn't buy it from them, but it was a new GM marine base engine. Mine came from Bayshore Power, and was ~$1900 with no intake but otherwise everything else that comes with the one you're looking at. Sounds like a good deal to me, provided the seller is solid...

Ayuh,......... Absolutely........ That's about 30hp........
