I stripped out the coupler on my boat last trip out to the lake(1989 4.3 175hp). Im looking to purchase a replacement part and when I looked up the serial online and search the part I get 18643A 2 which runs about 300 bucks or so(OEM). I did some more looking around for a better price and found the same part but with A5 on the end is almost 100 bucks cheaper. (oem part). My guess is the higher end number is a revision of the same part or will it not work? I guess the 18643A 7 comes with a new yoke and its the same price as a 18643A2 which doesnt include a yoke. the splines on my yoke look perfect. i havnt checked the alignment of the motor yet but im assuming thats why it went out. so whats the deal with all these part numbers and different prices?

The different A number might mean just a revision, it may not.... Usually it means a different part...
