HI
On my 1997 MCM V6 4,3 LX GEN + , used in salt water during 6 month a year, I have one piece Exhaust Manifold P/N 807293A2.

This type of manifold doesn’t have risers so I can’t clean out the ports, flush well, and then inspect.
What is the expected life for this particularly type of manifold?
There is any possible to inspect, clean with the manifold installed? Is difficult to remove?
Can I get an idea of their health?
Thanks, Almeida

Re: 4.3 LX Exhaust Manifold

Well,..........

I'd say you're Several Years Over Due.............

Unfortunately,.......No,.... is the Answer to the rest of your Questions............

They'll "Test" Just Fine,........ Right up to the time of Catastrophic Failure............

I understand that Merc. has Finally come out with an Up-Date Kit to retro-fit your motor to the 2 piece style.........

Re: 4.3 LX Exhaust Manifold

make sure you get the correct kit, DonS can give you expert advice, i had the same engine, and had extreme problems trying to replace the "batwings" the new merc solutions should work. expensive, but the only way to go. anything else will allow water to be sucked back to the engine, by the valve over lap of the vortec engine.

Thanks
So, the One Piece Exhaust Manifold 807294A2 and 807294A3 are no more available for the 1997 MCM V6 4,3 LX GEN + engine?
The only solution is the acquisition of an expensive kit in order to convert it in 2 pc exhaust manifold?
OEM manufactures (GLM, OSCO, SIERRA) doesn’t have one piece Exhaust Manifold ?

Here is the parts list needed for the conversion. It's from Mercruiser service bulletin # 2005-12.
