4.3 LX thundrbolt ignit timing method?

My dodgy SELOC manual does not detail the timing method for my engines in sufficient detail. I guess it's not as simple as connecting to plug 1 and pointing my strobe at what may possibly be the correct timing mark. Can anyone give me a timing for dummies method??!<br />thanks in advance Bob

Is it a Thunderbolt IV or Thunderbolt V?

With the TB IV, it's just like you said. Hook to #1 plug wire and turn the distributor to the correct mark for your engine.<br />The TB V had to be put in base timing.
