I posted about my boat cutting out as I gave it gas and also cutting out on throttle. I thought it was the same issue, but I took it to get fixed and they replaced the distributor cap (easy, but i had no time to mess with it). The boat no longer stalls when you give it gas. However, when I put the boat back in the water I took it out for about 5-10 minutes at 3/4 throttle and the boat just cut out like I hit the kill switch or something. It did it again as I tried to get back to the dock. Back at the dock, I ran the boat (not in gear) and it did it again but this time I noticed all the gauges turned off as well when it happened.
I think it could be the ignition switch so I am going to replace that because its cheap, but any other obvious culprits. Boat ran perfectly until it just shut off. I even had it running for 30 minutes back at the dock without any issues trying to replicate the problem. Hoping this solves this particular problem, but just want to think of other things while I wait for the ignition switch to get here. Basically runs perfect and then just dies for no reason - seems electrical to me.
If this does not work, I am going to start checkin the wires/fuses near the engine and from starter and battery.
