I just picked up a brand new set of plug wires from a MERCRUISER shop so it would be the set I needed, I took it to the water an all it would do is turn over and I checked to see if I was getting fire from the coil an I was. So now I'm good on the plug wire from coil to distributor but all the motor does is turn over?? I've checked my fuses also an there good. Engine serial #1A340674 ,4.3 MERCRUISER, 08 Tahoe.

Something else happened. If your getting spark and you put the wires on wrong it would backfire or something. Check to see if you didn't pull something loose when the wires were being changed out

Set a plug on bare metal with the wire attached and crank the motor. You should get a nice bright spark.
Do your wires have a flat 90 degree bend on one end with a round boot about 1 inch long? That's the end that goes on the cap. The plug end normally has longer boots. I have seen one person put the boots on the wrong end, maybe you did too. Make sure everything is seated, and you are on the right holes. #1 is the port (left) front hole, #2 is the starboard (right) front one. So 1,3, 5 are on the left side; 2,4, and 6 are on the right.
Take a picture of the distributor showing one wire off the spark plug, show the plug end and the distributor end-preferably #1.
Did you take off the cap? Is it possible you bumped any of the distributor control wires? Is the safety kill switch lanyard in place? Does it have fuel? It should be kinda gas-stinky if there's gas and no fire.
