4.3 mercruiser outdrive instalation question/

the broken one came off pretty easy,,im having a bit of trouble with the new one..i have followed all the guidlines your experts lay out, i can get it to the bolts just touching the holes, how hard should it be to turn the prop as i find the alignment,,any tips. thankyou

Did you use an alignment tool before trying to install the new drive? You should, if you haven't. Saves much $ later and makes drive installation easier.

Sometimes the o-rings on the driveshaft are a pain to get started in the gimbal bearing. Too much grease and they can get stuck in place, not allowing the shaft to go through into the coupler. Having someone hold and position the drive while you get the driveshaft lined up is helpful. I plan to build a drive cradle sometime this summer so I can do this operation myself each year.
