Hi
Today we took the boat out for the first time this season. When were getting it ready for summer it took a bit to start and stay started. We figured it was b/c of the fuel being old. We put in fuel stabilizer in it that helped a bit but then it went back to old problem. then we added fuel additive. sprayed carb cleaner...finally stayed running. (in drive way mind you) Take it out today...GREAT while going out...ran real good. Got to bay bridge area and we sat for a few mins let it idle while we just hung out for a bit. then we start coming in...ran good for a few minutes then we noticed a noise from the engine. no sooner had we both heard it then bam - the engine shut it self off. Looked at it, it was smoking and there was oil leaking. I'm not sure what happened. can anyone tell me? and is this a fix that's possible? if so what did we do to cause it so we can keep it from happening again AND what else do we need to do to prevent it.
any info would be greatly appreciate it. this forum was very helpful in the past when we had prop issues.
thank you again!
