4.3 Mercruiser thermostate

Hi i have a 1990 4.3 mercruiser i/o (alpha one)the thermostate was removed from housing before i purchased the boat. I need to know the order it goes in. If it goes o-ring,thermostate,plastic sleve or does it go thermostate,o-ring then plastic sleve. Thanks for help in advance a picture of the layout would be great
