I just swapped a 3.0 for a 4.3 in a 89 bayliner trophy. The 4.3 is in the boat with the rear mounts tight but the side mounting points in the boat are just an inch too wide to bolt the motor mounts. Is there a longer bracket that attaches to the block?

Naw,.... Ya align the motor with the gimbel, with an alignment bar, 'n mock up what ya need outa wood....

Then pull the motor back outa the way, 'n Glass it all together, so's the adjustments are Centered where ya start...

Lastly, drop the motor back in, 'n realign it...

Instructions on doin' the glassin' can be found at the Dry-dock, aka; the Restoration forum...

If it helps ya any...

Click on the Islander thread in my signature you can see the steps outlined starting round about post #3400. My rig is alum and of course your is glass but the process is essentially the same.

Question...

How's the condition of that wood you are bolting your new 4.3 into?

All the best:)

I will check that thread out. Thanks.

The wood is in great condition. No rot that I can find. The guy I bought this boat from was the original owner and stored it in a barn.
