4.3 ran great, new radio now no start

boat ran great then we installed a new radio and now wont start it does turn over but seems like its not getting fuel or cuts off. Acts like something is killing it. Turns ovee acts like it wants to run. Any help would be appreciated.

if equipped, is the saftey lanyard in place??

where did you get power for the radio from??

did you disconnect any wires under the dash during the install??

Need some more info rather than just 4.3 liter. The obvious answer is it is related to your radio installation. Where did you get the power for the radio? What type of ignition system do you have? Sounds like it may be getting power when you have the starter engaged, but not when you release the starter. First step would be to check for voltage at the coil with the ignition switch on.

It was professionally installed, I totally forgot about safer lanyard. It might not be on all the way. I am back at his shop, because they installed tge radio off the ignition....I wanted it straight to battery. There was a wire on backof iignition (yellow) that isnt going to anything. If it touches metal I can hear a humming coming from a cylinder labeled saej1171, but a plastic cap was placed on this wire. Anyone know what this wire does?

was it a stereo installer or boat mechanic??

does the yellow wire have a red tracer on it??

SAE J1171 is a marine rating sticker found on starter motors

Well the wire I thought was yellow is actually pink comming from ignition...with yellow wire added. I had a stereo pro do it. Im about to head back to house with boat, I think I'm the idiot and had the safety lanyard off....Ugh hate that thing.
