4.3 Riser gasket question

I purchased a set of riser gaskets at a marina and the guy have me the gaskets that have 4 openings in them for the water passages. The old gaskets off of my risers had 2 openings slotted out then 2 small holes for the other slots, will this be ok? My risers have 4 slots all the way around but 2 were blocked by the gaskets with the exception of the small hole,this would open the water passages on all 4 sides. The boat is a 1996 Mercruiser, am I good to go or do I need to go exchange the gaskets?

You have the correct gaskets. Here is a link to the Service Bulletin where the gasket was changed from the type you removed (two slots, two holes) to the new style (four slots).
