4.3 supercharger ?

Hello, New to this board here... I was woundering if I could put a 5psi supercharger on my 4.3 deckboat without any modifactions to motor. Im looking for a way to get a little more speed without ripping out motor.<br />I have a stock 4.3, 4 brl. carb on a 215 (21'5") VIP Deckboat. I see that GM makes one for the 4.3 S/10 pu. will this work ?<br />Thank you !

any mods to a boat motor should be marine approved,otherwise ...kaaboom.no more boat.<br />javsam

Glenn, like javsam says, nothing but Marine approved items should be put on the engine.<br />Otherwise you could have problems with vapors and fire, etc.<br />BTW, welcome to iboats.

Thanks for the reply's ! Could anyone point me in the right direction to find something that I could do to this 4.3 to help it go a little faster ? I have done the prop. change out and I have the best stainless steel one for speed and power. Im also installing a "Dolfin" due to problem getting out on plane when loaded. I am just kind of looking for a easy way out I guess with out installing a bigblock.Its a little over 21' and 38 mph (gps) isnt fast enough for me.. hehe Thanks again !

Welcome to Iboats Glenn! As all said above, only use marine approved stuff on your boat! PLEASE! They make marine superchargers, but they aren't cheap. I would stay from the dolfin and put smart tabs on your boat, you will probly be happier. Also, do like SBN suggested and post in the merc engine area, there are lots of smart people there and many ideas.

Its posted over there. I just didnt want to double post... Whats you input on nitrous ? I know its a bad subject, but If you dont do 100 shoot I think its ok. but can you really notice a difference ? with say.... a 50 shot and is this too much ?

I was at the Miami Boat show and saw a 4.3 with a blower done by Laz Mesa from Mesa racing in Miami<br />That would kick some booty in your boat
