Question for you mercruiser gurus. I understand Mercury made the TKS carb kit available for free to purchasers of 2006 and above models that were originally purchased with the standard carb set up.
That would imply the PCM does not require upgrading?
So to my question. I purchased a TKS "kit" from an e-bayer. It was complete with all the wiring and harnesses, temp sensor etc. My engine is a 2003 model year with the thunderbolt 5 ignition. I did not see any reference in the instructions on what to do with the choke pair once the original carb is removed.
I attempted to start my engine today and I am getting a warning buzzer but no joy on turning the engine over. I did notice the Purple / yellow wire that is part of the choke circuit is also connected to the solenoid on the starter. Does the choke / starter solenoid make a complete curcuit?
