I have a 2004 Ebbtide 190 campione with the 4.3 v6 (carburated) mercruiser Factory timing is 10BTDC. I know how to time an engine. Ive heard you have to use a jumper wire on some purple wire. Can someone explain to me what wire that is, and where. I also need to know what is the max I can advance it.

Re: 4.3 timing

You have the Thunderbolt V ignition system, and it's electronic, including advance. Why do you want to advance the timing?

You are absolutly right, Thanks for refreshing my memory. I have heard that before about the thunderbolt V ignition , just forgot all about it. Just got doing a timing belt on my car, in the wrong mindset. Thanks for the instructions though.
