Hi everyone, so just picked up my first baby, 1990 galaxy 21' walkaround, put her in the water yesterday and had a fun day puttin' around until....... my ignition fuse started blowing every time i tried to start the engine
All I had was 20 amp fuses on board and of course those did not work, so I picked up some 30 amp fuses and those got the boat started and back to the mooring. While i was waiting for the boat to come pick me up I tried to start the boat again and the fuse blew. My question is do I have a short somewhere? Or should that fuse be bigger? The breaker on the motor itself if 50amp so is it safe for me to put a 40 or 50 amp fuse up on the control panel? Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. And thanks ahead of time for dealing with my lack of boating terms, I hope to learn from all you.
