I have a 2000 Larson that I bought as a project. Boat has been sitting for some time and the engine short block (maybe long) has to be replaced. It now has a Jasper 14099090M block that is supposed to be for the years '96-'98.

Which block can I use to replace this block? Will a 14099090 work or does it have to have the "M" at the end of the cast number? I also read that the marine crank is drilled larger and deeper in diameter to accommodate marine out drives.

Appreciate any help.

Thanks for the response Bondo....No it wasn't here. I think it was an S10 forum when I was digging for the block cast number (14099090M). Then I read the "M" indicated Metric starter bolts. This makes sense, I was pulling engine internals today and the starter bolts were in fact metric.
