i have recently discovered my tilt trim gauge not working, diagnosed the sender is bad. when replacing i pulled the wires through the hull via the sterndrive side. the old unit has a plug on the engine side should i keep that to splice the new sender in? what do i have to do to get the new wires back through??? it is very cramped inside the area of the stern drive... do i have to remove the drive or can i get it with it on? im a pretty mechanically inclined person but this is the first time im working on a boat. any ideas?? thanks for your help.
