I use my boat only in freshwater(Colorado is pretty far from any saltwater).:D It's a 1989 VIP w/Cobra 4.3L setup.
Anway , Is it possible to run Merc 4.3L aluminum exhaust manifolds on the OMC Cobra setup.
I would really like to free up some more weight from the motor, and I haven't heard of or seen any OMC aluminum manifolds.
Thanks!

Ayuh,............

I'm Sure it's possible,........
And,....
I'm also Sure,.........
That you'll need to do some Creative Plumbing with the Water,+ Exhaust flows to pull it off..................

Good Luck,..............

Like Bond-o said, it'll work, but it is up to you to make it connect to your exhaust down tube.

Re: 4.3L Cobra Exhaust Conversion(maybe?)

I've been looking into this as well....want to upgrade to a Vortec motor but the 1 piece Osco conversion kit is not for use on Vortec motors.....

A couple things I've learned.....they have a conversion kit to convert the 1 piece Mercruiser manifold to these manifolds....the Mercruiser 1 piece manifold is very similar to the OMC....

Don also mentioned that Volvo has an elbow that turns down....

I'm still not 100% positive on how either would work but I'm sure it can be done someway......let me know if you find out any new info....

Thanks

Don has had many posts on converting it with the Volvo manifolds.if i remember right it was just buying different angled elbows with the manifolds.
Not sure if Volvo offers any aluminum, kind of doubt it but Don will know.

Thanks guys!
No guts.... no glory!!
Osco makes a adapter I'm told. #CRR80x3.50
I'm going to use the GLM #51225 Aluminum Exhaust Manifolds.
Now if I can figure out which risers to use , I might have a chance! I was told that need the 15 degree risers , but got to figure out which ones they are in the GLM Catolog.
