I have a 05 volvo GXI that is driving me crazy. We go out to the lake the boat starts with no problem but after 40 minutes or so the boat dies out. A few times I could get it started after a few minutes but the last time it would only turn over. I could not hear the fuel pumps start then. The next day when I turned the key on I could hear the fuel system pressure up and the boat started right away. I changed out the fuel filter a couple of times now and it is not making a difference. Anybody have an idea if it is fuel or electrical related?

Doesn't sound like a fuel problem since it started for a while twice. Sounds like a loose wire or short somewhere.

Yeah like maybe a loose wire to the fuel pump !

if you dont hear the pump run when you first turn on the key
that should be your first clue !

and at that time check power to fuel pump ..

A loose wire makes sense but the last time it happened I crawled all around the boat wiggling wires and the boat would not start just turn over. The next day it ran no problem. Could it be something temperature related since the boat runs for a while before it would quit:confused:

when its doing this you need to determine

do you have spark ?
are you getting fuel to the carb ?

then you have a place to start troubleshooting.
