Just purchased a 2000 Bayliner yesterday, however, the engine runs for 20 seconds or so then shuts off. Hot wired the fuel pump to the battery. Runs fine so we know the fuel pump is good. Is there sensors that could be bad or is the problem more serious? :(

Also, may be a faulty fuel pump relay...

Had a similar problem with the 3.0 engine on my bayliner. Turned out to be an electrical connector on the back side of the motor. Very hard to see, but check and make sure all harness plugs are seated in all the way. Mine was not all the way in and breaking contact. Bayliner dealers are supposed to check for that problem but my dealer never found it or never looked.
