I am having starting problems. I turn the key and I can hear a clicking noise comming from the engine bay. I went throught the trouble shooting guide that Don S. posted http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=167035 and everything worked fine as listed. when I got to testing the starter the light did not come on with my tester, his post said if there was a light then the starter would be bad. My only thoughts are the starter is bad due to corrosion. Batteries are good, lines shot good, throttle lines are good, kill switch is good,,,,, not sure what else to check.

Re: 4.3L Mercruiser

I touched the terminal B on the starter solenoid, the test light did not light up. Don S's review said that if the B terminal lit up on the test light with a good ground then the starter was bad, or time to pull it out. I did get it out  but broke the fuse off due to rust, so then I couldnt get it tested. went to the junk yard to find a old one from a GM or Chevy block and no such luck. so I ordered a new starter. hope that is the fix:confused:
