4.3l TKS dies when given throttle

I have a 2010 Mercruiser 4.3l TKS that had cracked intake manifold over the winter, I replaced the manifold, and put back together. When I first started the engine, it would run at idle, but would eventually die when given any gas, in neutral or in gear. After a while, the engine would run for about 7 seconds and then die out. I've been playing with the carb, and it seems like everything I do, it doesn't change. I got it to idle right at the 640 range (specs say 650), but when it gets to 650 or 660, it starts to idle rough. At 640, it is pretty smooth. I don't think its the lower shift cable or the kill switch because when I take off the throttle cable, I can put it into gear during idle, it dies whenever the throttle increases. I'm planning on rebuilding the carb, just thought I would get other suggestions before hand.

How did you set the ignition timing? Did you ground out a wire to put the system into base timing mode?

The gasket(s)? under the carburetor, did you install new OEM gaskets or reuse the old ones?

Ensure all the fuel lines to the carb and fuel pump are tight and not excessively bent up so the system isn't sucking air or have any restrictions.

643 - 648 idle RPM is the typical range these engines idle at.

Also check the condition of the fuel & filter for contamination of any sorts.

Possibly the fuel pressure maybe to low or the internal carb needs service. The TKS carb can be temperamental at times.

I just finished rebuilding the carb and I have it running right now to warm up, but so far so good. But when I timed the engine, I did not ground out a wire. What do you mean by this, I did not see it in my repair manual. I'm not saying its not in there, I'm just saying I did not see it, I tend to skip the parts that I already know and might of missed it. Thanks
