4.3lx merc slipping

so i was causing today and hit a log going around 30. And then i noticed when i plane out the outdrive starts slipping. While the boat is out put it in drive while the engine is off and with a lot of force i can turn the prop by hand a little and the shaft spins with it .

you either have a spun prop hub or a spun coupler.

take a sharpie marker and draw a line across the prop hub, nut and prop. if the line moves its the prop (easy fix). if the line doesnt move, you will be pulling the drive and the motor to fix the coupling.

If you are able to plane out before it slips its your prop. Get you a solas Amita from iboats. Great prop for the money.
