Howdy,

It's unlikely that 15hp is even going to be noticeable in performance. and it's going to cost a fair amount of money for the carb and manifold......

If you want a noticeable performance gain you really need to put a V-8 in it. But that has it's own issues....

Odd how this keeps coming up recently...
It is a complete total waste of time, money and effort.

To put it bluntly:
A failed experiment that was on a failed experiment.

A engine is basically a air pump. You can only flow a certain amount of air in and out of your engine based on the flow ability of you heads, intake, and exhaust. And, most importantly, camshaft lift and duration. Then there is the thing about the fact that you turn a low RPM on a boat and you don't spin it any higher because of prop pitch. So, there is no reason to put a bigger carb on your engine unless you change all these other things too.

you have a 4 banger- wild open it can probably only pump out 300 cfm.
a bigger carb will give the bog from hell.

I Tried The 4 Barrel Last Year But The Boat Actually Lost Bottom End Cause It Was Bogging And Ran Like Crap. Also That Manifold Has A Oil Cooler On It And It Has To Be Ran To The Oil Filter Adapter. I Removed It Because It Was A Waste Of Time And Hope For More Power.

Methinks he may have confused his "165" 4 banger with some of the threads about the 165 6 banger.
