I have bought a Johnson 35hp with a 4 blade prop, are they any superior to a 3 bladed prop regarding power and smooth operation?

Re: 4 blade prop...a good choice?

The motor seems mounted very low and it has a huge foil mounted.I imagine it will plane easily but have trouble making much speed.
The 4 blade should help hole shot, and stay on plane with less throttle also should handle better at the dock and on plane. The foil will mask most of the props effects.
I would try the foil and then try to get it setup right without the foil.
Get us the year of the motor and the prop size and boat info.Max rpm and speed.

I've never seen a whale tail angled up like that one. I wonder if it works better than the regular ones.

If you run a 3-blade prop you might have better top speed, as mentioned, you can use RPM as a guide to get the right size and pitch for the best top speed if that's what you have as a priority.

The 4-blade with whale tail is for a quick hole shot so that rig must be fun:D
