Bought a new #4 carbarator for 2004 50 hp 4 stroke Yahama outboard and it will not idle. Other 3 carbarators work. What are possible problems and how do we fix them?

follow the service manual procedures to set all of them properly.

I have no idea how you can say #4 carb has an idle problem with the others all part of the motors running ability

Agreed^^^. When you installed the new carb did you time and sync all 4 carbs per your service manual?

The #4 carbarator is new, but it is not working. We did not sync the carbs yet. Can this be the reason #4 does not work? It is getting spark.
Thanks.

need to follow the service manual procedures every time you remove and put carbs back on.
my guess is you have no service manual or equipment to do the work

instead of sending questions out to a lot of different forums and people and not following their advice, get a service manual and get the proper equipment, or take to a Yamaha service shop that has the proper knowledge and equipment.
please do not send PMs to me asking more questions
just keep it in the open forum

My man, not trying to ruffle feathers here but you're out of league, so to speak. It's a new carb so it works. All 4 carbs need to work in synchrony, hence the procedure of time and sync. And lastly, and most eye brow raising....carburetors do not get "spark". Since it stores fuel, among other functions, give it spark and be prepared for shrapnel. Take it to a marine mechanic.
