4 ohm-8 ohm

I have a Standard Horizon GX3000S vhf and bought a 5" hailer horn mainly so I could use the fog horn feature. I just discovered the horn is 8 ohm and Standard Horizon instructions say 4 ohm. Am I out of luck here? I should have paid attention to the particulars in the 1st place

Twice the resistance should result in half the volume. 4 ohm should be significantly louder.

if the PA horn you bought is 25 watt 8 ohm you can either add another fo the same and wire them +to+ and -to-
AKA parallel to make 4 Ohm that vhf will take it.
