4 Stroke Oil Filter Question

Recently aquired a pontoon with a 1999 Evinrude 50 HP 4 Stroke. Ran it a couple of times before buying...Ran good. Have had a busy time since then, about 6 weeks, and have finally gotten around to changing the oil before taking it out. Took the cowling off as instructed, got my rag ready to hold under the filter, twisted it, removed it...Not a drop of oil in it!!!

All the marine places are closed on Monday here so I'm turning to Y'all. Can this be OK?? I'll be holding my breath!

Thanks

Re: 4 Stroke Oil Filter Question

that is normal, even the Yamaha inline motors drain the oil filter when the motor shuts down.
