4 stroke vs 2 stroke

I just bought a new to me rib. along with the boat came a 15hp honda four stroke. I was looking for some input on the performance difference between the honda and a nissan 15hp two stroke. mostly wondering about planing/top speed.
the boat is an AB 320/10'6" weighs 180 empty.
it also has trim tabs

With 8 pitch props on both:

Toh/Nis 26 mph
Honda 24 mph

The Toh/Nis is faster to get on plane, but the Honda uses a lot less gas at anything below planning speed. Unless your overseas the 2-stk Toh/Nis isn't available.

thx for the quick response. I allready had the nissan. but I am going to sell one or the other. how did you come up with those mph numbers.

honda has 9.5 and the nissan has 9 inch

Years of selling the 320 VS with Honda's and Toh/Nis's on the back....Back in the 90's

finally tested both motors
nissan has oem 9 pitch and honda has oem 9.5 pitch
nissan and honda both topped out at 26.2 with me alone(270lbs)
with me and the wife the nissan topped at 25 mph and the
honda topped at 24.5 mph.
both were same day and same gps

Just keep in mind before selling one motor or the other, I have yet to see a more reliable motor than my 15 hp honda four stroke and it deffinitley gets great mialaga wide open ,at idle or anywhere in between. Just my 2 cents.
