40 etec idle jumps

I have a 40hp etec 2008 model. motor will idle fine for about 30 minutes and then every so often it will increase rpms by about 200 rpms all by it's self just momentarily and the drop back to idle. After it does this the first time it will do it about every 10 minutes. All so it seems my idle is very jumpy as far as adjusting my idle speed while trolling. I had it back to the dealer once they said they ran it for an hour without it acting up. I have only had it not act up in an hr one time since I got it. Any Ideas my dealer is 100 miles away.

This is a warranty issue and w/o the diag s/w, you don't have a prayer. Call your dealer.

BTW, I have T175 Etecs and have the diag s/w, but have yet to touch anything, since everything including spark plugs is covered by the warranty. My motors have had zero issues, other than rigging items and have had three new MAP images burned to date.

Call your dealer and have him discuss it with his BRP rep. I have an '05 50 horse Etec (same engine you have) and have had no issues like this.
They do software updates (remaps, according to my dealers tech) from time to time, and maybe this would solve the issue.
