40 hp 2cyl. 81 merc very very weak spark.

Ive got an 81 40 hp merc 2 cylinder that I have replaced the switch box, ignition stator, disconnected the mercury switch, checked all wiring to no avail. Im not sure about the trigger, it ohm d out at 750 ohms, the specs say 800 to 1000 in the manual I have. could a weak reading on this part cause a very very weak spark? I am at my wits end here. Im beginning to think I may have bought a bad switchbox. Any Ideas anyone? Thank you for looking.

do you have weak spark on both cylinders? did you disconnect the kill switch? coils can also be bad.

Yes both cylinders have just enough of a jolt to know its there.You can put your finger on the plug and just barely feel it. Both cylinders are the same. Thank you for the response. Oh and yes I have disconnected the kill switch and the mercury switch.
