Welcome ti iboats.<br /><br />By far, the biggest myth with outboard motors is that all you have to do is to put a carb from a bigger motor on to give you that much horsepower. That's one of the most frequently questions asked here.<br /><br />That is true for only a handful of motors, and well before 1993. They get different horsepower from the same block by any combination of about a dozen different factors. Just changing one component will not give you the whole package, and often if you change just one, you can do serious harm to the motor.
