I recently began having problems with my 1994 40 hp not wanting to start and when it did, I lost power at med to high throttle till it inevitably died when I let off the throttle. I took the carbs off, cleaned them and started to reassemble. Since I was running late for my 2nd shift job I asked my friend to help by putting the carbs back on since he was there helping me take them off. When I went to the motor the next day he told me that he put them on and "adjusted" them but must have done something wrong since the motor revs super high and cannot be shut off without totally blocking the air intake choking it out. I know he meant well but all it needed was a cleaning. Any advice other than the obvious?
