hi every one, new to this . a friend gave me a boat and motor out of his yard that he has had there for several years . its a 40 hp lark VI model 35530l 1962, Ifound a manual for it,does any one know anything about these motors, is it worth messing with, and if so where should I start, where is a good place to get parts for these old motors, and also I have a 50 hp 1996 evinrude that i need to replace fuel lines in the motor, so where can you find the tie strap tool that omc uses for the fuel lines.

That should be Lark IV, not VI. Very good motors and OMC's "bread and butter" at the time. They were made in both Selectric shift and Mechanical shift. Opinions vary and are plentifiul.

If you don't want to mess with it, toss it out in my front yard.

It's probably on a period boat, and it was free. Check the spark and fire 'er up. Spark + fuel... They are solid motors and can be coaxed to run really well. g'luck, kirby
