40 hp lower unit compatability

I have a 1997 mercury 40 hp 4cyl serial number 0G537793 that is missing the lower unit. Is there any where I can look to see what years and models are compatible?

If its the 4 cylinder any 2:1 ratio unit off a 1977 and up 40/40Magnum/45/50 will work..
